About Haida Gwaii
Haida Gwaii literally means "islands of the Haida people". It is also informally known as the Queen Charlotte Islands or "the Charlotte's". This is the traditional territory of the Haida Nation and an archipelago on the northern coast of British Columbia, Canada.
Consisting of two main islands Graham Island and Moresby Island (or Gwaii Haanas in Haida) plus an additional 150 smaller islands, it is accessible by both ferry and by plane. The main ferry departs from Prince Rupert on the mainland and there is a seasonal ferry off the northern tip of Vancouver Island. There are two airports, one at Sandspit on Moresby Island (south end) and one at Masset at the north end of Graham Island.
